Dressage
The Dressage Teams are organised by our Chef Team - Sarah for Juniors and Kerrie for Seniors. We always have lots of entries for all Dressage Qualifiers and often have teams at Lincoln for the National Champs. All members are welcome to enter our teams and we do our best to allow everyone the chance to compete (you must be a member 21 days prior to the close of preliminary entries). Please do let the Chefs know if you are not available for Championship dates so teams can be appropriately put together. Occasionally the number of entries may be restricted by the organising club or due to the financial input HHRC is required to make.
Winter Dressage Qualifier
Winter Dressage Qualifier usually takes place in January or February. Watch out for club emails for details on how to enter.
Summer Dressage Qualifier
The Summer Dressage Qualifer is regualarly held on grass - depending on the venue. Our club was well represented and we often have members off to Lincoln.
Dressage to Music
This took place on 22nd July 2017 at Houghton Hall and was run by HHRC. To compete in the DTM you must be a BD music member. Why not get registered and start putting your floor plan together for next year. All tests are performed in a 20 x 60 arena.
Riding Test
WHAT IS A RIDING TEST?
The dressage riding test differs from a normal dressage test as it looks at the Riders ability, position and effectiveness and not just how the horse goes. The feedback given should be constructive and positive to not only draw attention to the highlights but also show where improvements can be made to encourage better riding and higher marks. The judge can also give half marks.
Briitish Riding Clubs have tests at Prelim and Novice level. The tests can be downloaded by from the British Riding Club website. Test Downloads

TRAINING
We offer regular flatwork session including pole work and also arrange test riding events
WINTER QUALIFER
The Winter Qualifer usually takes place in February each year. Open to teams or individuals. The winter qualifer will be held on a surface
SUMMER QUALIFER
Houghton and Huntingdon will be running the 2018 Summer Qualifier. We are hoping this will be run during May. Watch this space for more information. The Summer Qualifier will be held on grass.
PLAN THAT MOVE
Always make sure you plan your moves - a rushed transiton will cost you marks
DRESS
Qualifiers and Championships abide by BD rules - make sure you are familiar with what is and isn't allowed to be worn for you and your horse.
TACK CHECKS
There will be tack checks are qualifiers and championships. If you fail to get tack checked you could be disqualified. Make sure you are checked before you ride your test
SPURS
Spurs are allowed but must not exceed 3cm measured from the boot not the spur itself
